The holidays are around the corner, and finding that perfect gift for your favorite person who is a fitness enthusiast is no easy task. Even if you’re looking to gift yourself this season, this list is perfect for upgrading what you may already have, or simply motivate you to achieve fitness goals. We’ve made a list of some of the most sought-after fitness gear and accessories, and we’ve checked it twice. Those (other than cash) are by far some of the best gifts you can give to your active loved ones. If you start thinking about gifts now, you’ll be able to snatch the best deals, compare prices, and get yours before the rush. Ultimately, this list will help you make a more informed decision on what to gift persons who work out.

Gift of Recovery: Foam Roller

Great gift for anybody who works out or wants to work out, whether into running, biking, CrossFit training, or swimming. If you go online there are so many to choose from based on price, surface texture, and foam density. Get a foam roller based on design and structure; one that has a hard plastic inner layer and a thick dense layer of foam on the outside. If you get one based on price, you’ll end up with a basic roll of foam that may be too soft and has too much give when you apply bodyweight to it. Better yet, get one with ridges or knobs on the outside to get a proper deep tissue massage. Those are the best if you tend to have knots in your muscles. If you want to recover quickly, invest in a good foam roller and use it regularly post-workout.

Gift of Hydration: Water bottle

Give the give of hydration this year with a water bottle! Listen, everybody needs to stay on top of their water drinking game, especially these days. Water bottles come in all sizes, prices, and with as much technology as you want. Some bottles have self-cleaning features, some can be connected to your phone via Bluetooth and some are just basic. It all depends on how techy you are and what your hydration needs are. And by needs, I mean: do you need help tracking how much water you drink? Do you need reminders? Do you dislike drinking water generally? The point is you need a bottle that will fit your lifestyle and motivate you to drink from it.

Here are our favs for water bottles: there’s something for everybody 😊

  1. BuildLife 1 Gallon Water Bottle Motivational Fitness Workout with Time Marker to Drink More Daily/Clear: this one is perfect for keeping you on track with your drinking. Easy to clean and really motivates you to drink!

2.Aquabro Motivational Water Bottle

Here’s a very thoughtful gift to up anybody’s fitness game! A fitness watch can be your own fitness personal assistant. There are so many fitness watches to choose from depending on your needs. You may only need a timepiece to track laps and splits, or you may need one to help track sleep quality, oxygen intake, entire workouts, heart rate, GPS, and all that other good stuff. Don’t feel overwhelmed, because whether you need a full-blown smartwatch or a simple fitness-oriented timepiece, we will help you out.

Garmin 010-02064-00 Instinct

• This one is military standard, built to withstand the harshest of environments. Very accurate tracking technology, compatible with smartphones, and automatic data sharing options for online engagement.
  • Built-in 3 axis compass and barometric altimeter, plus multiple global navigation satellite systems (GPS, Glonass, and Galileo) support helps track in more challenging environments than GPS alone
  • Monitor your estimated heart rate, activity, and stress; Battery life: Up to 14 days in smartwatch mode and up to 16 hours in GPS mode

Fitbit Luxe

Your wrists will thank you with this Fitbit Luxe as it doubles up as super tracking jewelry. Very elegant fit if you’re not interested in switching up timepieces, this one’s for you.

This watch from TIMEX is not smart, however, it has an excellent memory of 30 laps and a 24-hour countdown timer. Great for water sports: Night-mode features.

Resistance bands

Resistance bands are multipurpose strength training tools. They can significantly enhance strength training workouts. They’re portable, light, and also great for at-home workouts. The Bodylastics Stackable Tube Resistance Bands are the absolute best bands to use no matter what your needs are. There’s no need for a list of the best because this is it, we promise you. It comes with woven cords tucked inside so that they don’t break or snap. They come in increased weight (5 pounds) and can be used together for a total of 96 pounds). You get a door anchor, two handles, and two ankle straps. Very easy to set up and use even without the instruction manual (which it comes with). If you lack inspiration, you can try out some of the exercises demonstrated that you get access to.

Small tip, if you want to take your Bodylastics Stackable Tube Resistance Bands to the beach, take extra care afterward as the salt and sand can cause some serious wear and tear. Awesome product, awesome addition to your fitness arsenal, awesome gift to a friend. You’re welcome!

Kettle Bells

Kettlebells are just as versatile as resistance bands and way more fun than dumbbells. They hold their own and make for a great gift or a great addition to your home gym in progress. They’re great for strength training or cardio workout. They help improve balance and coordination. Kettlebells can double up as dumbbells, use them for deadlifts, core, rows, burpees, snatches, squats, and of course classic swings. We chose one from PEAKFORM, BIONIC BODY, and Amazon Basics for you to choose from. 😊

The PEAKFORM kettlebell as shown above is adjustable to 15lb, 20lb, 30lb, and 35lb. Perfect for at-home fitness. If you bruise easily, you may appreciate the cushioning on those BIONIC BODY kettlebells. And you really can’t go wrong with Amazon Basics. They’re vinyl-coated cast iron kettlebells, fun colors and weights to choose from and very durable.

Exercise Mat

Covid has caused everybody into fitness to exercise at home at some point or the other. By now, it’s a no-brainer to invest in a mat. You want a mat that is durable, stable, and comfortable. A good exercise mat should be able to withstand the most intense of workouts, stomping shoes, dropped weights, and more without getting marked or damaged. It should have a non-slip surface so that you can confidently plant your hands and feet. Unlike a yoga mat, an exercise mat is thicker and has more cushion, and lends more comfort no matter your floor surface. And if you value portability, try to get one with a sling to carry around comfortably.

Gift Cards

If you’re not sure what to gift, you can simply give a gift card and let the person decide what they want. It’s really the next best thing to hard cash as far as presents go. It’s easy, it’s fast, no wrapping paper involved, no unwanted gifts, and no returns. You can choose a fitness store like Athleisure, Nike or Under Armor, or even Amazon (no limiting what they’d buy though). You can give a gift card to get clothes, gadgets or anything in between.
